We love math "Hands Down"

I offered different paper sizes and colors. Each cup has  a different number on it. Inside the cup is a number with that amount in dots for children that do not have number recognition yet.

They can chose one hand or two depending on the size of the paper.

So many different can implement this activity.
You can use it for addition, subtraction and number recognition to name a few.
I traced my hands and cut them out. As a fine motor excercise
you could have them trace thier own hands and cut them out.

In small groups we used small paper hands to solve addition number stories.
Vocabulary-add, join, all together, symbol, and plus sign.
